This collaboration with Fraunhofer IAO explores scalable solutions for integrating green infrastructure into nightlife districts. The initiative aims to mitigate noise pollution, reduce heat islands, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen the cultural and social vibrancy of nightlife areas. Besides strengthening social cohesion in urban neighborhoods, green infrastructure attracts business, tourism, and private-sector participation in sustainable development. The consortium includes experts in architecture, structural engineering, acoustics, facade greening, and plant science.

Key outcomes
  • Develop modular green walls that combine acoustic efficiency with ecological benefits.
  • Track the impact on air quality and mitigate heat islands.
  • Reduce noise disputes between nightlife venues and residents.
  • Offer a visually appealing solution for soundproofing that can be scaled and adapted to cities worldwide.
