Spain:”Spain forces nightclubs to close and brings in smoking ban to tackle coronavirus”

Spain has brought in a smoking ban and other restrictions to help stop the spread of coronavirus. Cases in the country have continued to rise, with 37,000 reported in the last week and the Foreign Office is currently advising Brits against all but essential travel to the country. In a bid to stop the virus spreading Spain has brought in a series of measures such as shutting nightclubs and forcing bars and restaurants to close by 1am. Hotels and restaurants must also maintain a distance of 1.5m between tables. People are also not allowed to smoke when a two-metre safe distance cannot be observed. The restrictions were announced by the national government on Friday, but regional governments have been allowed to choose when they apply in their region.
